March photo scavenger hunt

I am linking up with Greenthumb today for my first Photo Scavenger Hunt. I printed of the list of tasks and stuck it to the living room door. It was very satisfactory to tick the items of my list. Some where more challenging than others but it was fun and I am hoping to join in again in April

M is for ? Monkey puzzle tree. I received a seedling as a gift last May and it is still tiny but I am really looking forward to the first branch appearing. Whenever this may be!

9 am: The view from my bedroom at 9 am. It was maybe 4 minutes past 9 but it was as close to 9 as I could manage (school run)

Berries: I found these redcurrants in my freezer earlier this month and made lovely redcurrant jelly.

Lit up: I like to light a candle in the evenings.

Grate: Freshly grated cheddar for a scrumptious dish of macaroni cheese.

Working: James is working hard at his spelling homework.

Brickwork: crumbling brickwork in our back garden.

Cutlery: a spoon in a spice mixture (for roasted butternut squash)

Flowers: it has to be daffodils in March. These are in the Primary School garden, each planted by a child at school.

Crisp: the mornings are still crisp in March.

Ticket: Richard's  Inter Rail ticket from 1986. Must have been a great trip!

A coloured door: Coloured doors a relative rarity in my neighbour hood but I did find this pale blue garage door on a neighbourhood walk.

  2. Love seeing snippets from your part of the world. That spice mix looks like something I'd enjoy. The view from your bedroom window looks vastly different to mine, though homework looks nasty wherever you're located on the globe.

  9. What a lovely idea, I will be taking part in April's scavenger hunt, if only to practise taking pictures lol. your's are lovely, the monkey puzzle tree has potential. On my walk to work every day I pass a garden with a monkey tree which must be about 15 foot high. The redcurrants are a good picture, with bits of frost on them and delicious redcurrant jelly sounds tasty. Loving your interpretation for cutlery too. The garage door door looks unloved, though some would say rustic lol.
    Thanks for sharing Christina xx

  10. Looks like we all found it a bit tasking this month. But it makes you think more about the chosen subject. You showed some lovely photos , I think my favourite is the redcurrents with the ice still on them & then the travel ticket, which must have lots of memories.

  11. So glad you decided to join. This is a great glimpse into your world. Must say I'm fascinated by the baby monkey puzzle tree - look forward to seeing it featuring on your blog as it grows bigger. And I'm so jealous of your husband's inter rail ticket - always wanted to do that when I was in my 20s but never got round to it.

  13. Lovely photos Christina! Those red currants make me feel a bit sad as my childhood house (which I lived in up till August) sold recently and we always used to get a huge crop of red currants from the bush in the garden every summer! The working one is great- nice to see hard work at spellings! It's also exciting to see a baby Monkey Puzzle!x

  16. Hi Christina! I'm so glad that you joined our hunt, and I have enjoyed your photos! I had to laugh at the one of James doing spelling homework! I recently retired from elementary teaching, and Friday's schedule (today is Fri.) was always driven by getting spelling homework in, spelling tests given to three to five groups, and spelling homework out for the next week ~ along with other things. The photo reminded me of how much I loved to teach children and made me almost homesick for the frantic Friday swirl! You had many great photos, and I look forward to your future posts! Have a lovely weekend!
