April photo scavenger hunt

My second photo scavenger hunt. It was fun to collect photos and ideas as April passed slowly but I found this month's prompts more challenging than last March's. For two of the prompts I looked back at photos I took earlier this year. I hope this is acceptable. Enjoy the photos!

The scavenger hunt is organised by Greenthumb over at Made with love. Have a look at all the other scavenger hunts, there are some amazing photos to see!

A is for? Alistair swinging on a rope swing

11am: Getting the paints ready to paint our garden wall.

Smooth: I remembered taking this photo earlier in the year when I was walking along the river Kelvin. I hope it is ok to show an "old" photo? The rock is all but smooth but it caught my eye

Scale: I am not sure if this tortoise legs are actually covered in proper scales but to me -not an expert of reptilian anatomy- it looks like scales.

Tile: These tiles are on the South front of the Templeton carpet factory in Glasgow. It is no longer a factory. I took this picture with my zoom lens from the adventure playground on Glasgow Green

Logo: Sometimes subtle, sometimes not so subtle. Sometimes you don't need to know the logo to know what it would look like. Logos are all around us. Can you guess the brand of my running shoes and that of my casual trainers?

Scrap: I am always very mindful of not having to many food scraps. These are to go on the compost

Match: Cook's Matches. Essential to light the BBQ or a campfire, useful if the automated gas stove ignite fails to work.

Path: A path along the small loch in Mugdock Country Park.

Layers: Layers of fabric. This is a pile of fat quarters I have stashed away in my bottomless fabric box.

carry: carrying and pulling luggage for a week away from home. This is a photo I took in March but I really like it. A shame that I snapped away before she passed the rubbish bin.

Truck: There are not that many trucks where I live, and I didn't fancy setting up camp alongside Great Western Rd to snap the B&Q truck thundering by. I was delighted to find this safari truck during a visit to Blair Drummond safari park

  1. I loved your photos, Christina, and I think you did very well with this challenge, it looked quite a tough one to do! Your fat quarter pile is making me envious! You have a great choice there. I can guess your casual pumps are converse? I don't know the other ones (ehem - running is not my strong point) :) What a great shot of the tiles with your zoom lens too!

  2. Hey Christina,
I've just ordered a pair of Converse this evening. Navy blue, although I used to have a grey pair too. I do like this project. My favourite pictures are of Alistair and the tortoise leg.

  3. This is such a fun project. I'm curious, did Converse shoes only recently become popular, or available, there? I'm seeing them on so many blogs lately and it's unusual to me because I can't remember not having them here. I used to wear them in high school but haven't had a pair in many years.

  10. I really enjoyed your photos, Christina! The first one expressed such joy, and it brought back so many memories of swings to me. I think everyone dips into past photos at some time to get all the items ~ so don't worry about it! I thought the smoothed rock was really cool. In Nova Scotia, it is required to compost or recycle all vegetable/fruit scraps. You have a special small bin to collect them in, if you don't compost. The province has taken recycling very seriously! Here in Colorado, they've got a ways to go! Have a good weekend!

  11. A good collection for a month which I also found challenging. Love the tortoise leg (looks scaly to me!) and the path along the loch while the truck is certainly a great find as was Smoothed Rock.

  12. I love the photos, I haven't seen a scavenger hunt in a while I must find time to look at some of the others. I've not dared to join in on one yet!

  13. Lovely selection of photos. i also found it very challenging this month and also dug into my photo files, which it seems is expected practise. I would never achieve a time photo if I had to use a clock face. My favourite has to be the truck,.so original. I only know that logo would be Converse as my grandson visited us wearing a pair. I said ' I liked his new canvas shoes' only to be told they were NOT just canvas They were CONVERSE, which didn't mean anything to me, not being designer trendy. Look forward to seeing May's photos. the list looks interesting !
