August photo scavenger hunt

This month's prompts have been a bit of a struggle for me. There were plenty of opportunities to take pictures, and good ones, too. More often than not I was without my camera and opportunities were missed. Here is what I found:

The scavenger hunt is organised by Greenthumb over at Made with love. Have a look at all the other scavenger hunts, there are some amazing photos to see!

W is for? I just love watermelon.

5pm: this is usually the time I start cooking dinner. We aim to eat a family meal around 6 pm most days.

Everyday: a load of washing is part of everyday life with a big family.

Centered: a spider in its lair

Peace: enjoying a few minutes of peace (me, that is!)

Ball: a ball of wool.

Luggage: 4 school bags, each on its own peg in our hallway.

Under: James under glass (at the Science Museum)

On your shelf: a section of our vast bookshelf

Something you do everyday: eating dinner

Glitter: glitter is a forbidden substance in our house. I have chosen to photograph my glittering silver jumper instead.

Sunglass: Alistair loves to borrow mine

Are you taking part in the scavenger hunt next month? It is fun. Cx

  2. The bags in the hallway made me smile and reminded me of my own daughters growing up.

  3. What utter fun. Loved your post today as it echoes our lives right here - but I am on a smaller 2 children scale. jo x

  4. Pringles are banned in our house for the same reasons I suspect, as glitter is banned in yours! Having just finished a photo-a-day every day in August I don't know if I am quite up to the Scavenger hunt! I have never tried, but always enjoy your photo's x

  5. I love your shelves full of books! And there's no end to the laundry, is there (*sighing deeply*). Hope you're feeling in better spirits and that the coming week will be a good one for you. xxx

  7. I have a scarf in that glittery wool that I finished not long ago. Must remember to take a picture of it. Your bookshelves are delightful, always such a lovely thing to find in a home. I like to cook at 5pm as well, and listen to PM on Radio 4 while I do it. Lovely photos Christina, especially of those sweet boys. CJ xx

  9. Hi Christina, I struggled with the categories this month too. Love the watermelon and peace, and I'd love to have a good rummage through those shelves! x

  10. Hey Christina,

I love Alistair and James's school bags!! And Annie is clearly a girl of good taste with her spotty satchel. I wish I could forbid glitter. We inhale it here it is so prevalent. And yes, washing too.

  17. Wonderful pictures, Christina! I laughed when I read glitter is banned in your home. It's very nasty stuff, especially in the hands of a child. :-)

  18. These are wonderful, Christina. You made me smile about the glitter. There's a comedian who calls glitter "the herpes of craft supplies." Haha. I love seeing a photo of a child sleeping. I wish I had a few of mine sleeping but they've always been very light sleepers and I've rarely witnessed them asleep, even as little babies! I like the photo of the bookbags because they're very indicative of their users.

  19. Laundry everyday - oh yes, me too. The spider is a great one for center.

  20. That watermelon looks so juicy! Whenever the girls want to get the glitter out, I try and get them to go outside in the yard to use it! My nemesis would be Moon Sand, which someone bought as a present. To this day I can't get it out from between the quarry tiles in the kitchen, it truly is the devil's spawn! x

  21. Wonderful photos as always. :) I love how your pegs are on the stairs, that's a great idea. I am sick of the bags in our house and have nowhere to put them. Washing is an every day chore in my house too, it is very depressing how the laundry bin is full just after it is emptied! And your bookshelves are amazing too!

  22. Those are great photos! Well done.

  23. I love your photos. I love love love your book shelf. I would LOVE to have loads of books (and I do) but they're scattered round and about (lots on my kindle too) and quite a few of my books made way for baby no2! The hooks on the stairs are genius!!! xx

  24. Oh, laundry, yes - plenty of that here. And I get very nervy when my kids get the glitter out. Great photos. I always enjoy seeing how people interpret the prompts. x
