October photo scavenger hunt

I skipped the September photo scavenger hunt because I was too busy doing other things but I did try and get something for each prompt this month. Today's collection is a mix of photos taken in Turkey and home.

The scavenger hunt is hosted by Greenthumb over at Made with love. Have a look at all the other submissions, there are some amazing photos to see!

O is for ? On Milyon. That is ten million in English. I took this photo of old Turkish currency in an exchange shop. There are fewer zeros in the currency now.

6pm: charring aubergines to make a topping for fresh bread. Great for a light dinner (with some salad and a glass of wine)

Morning: getting Jack ready for a vet appointment. In this picture, Jack was frantically trying to bite his way out of the cat basket and wouldn't keep his head still for a photo.

Something you bought: a special treat from my holiday in Turkey. It was bought for me actually but I guess it still counts.

Light: Playing with the light in a park. These are both taken in front of the same fountain.

Close up: I am not sure what these plant parts would be called but I thought they looked very appetising (thinking as a bee)

Favourite: Jack's favourite chewy toy. Looking at it here, it is rather disgusting. I do really hope that my own bones look better!

Lunch: a quick lunch of cheese pancake with pickled cabbage at the market in Turkey. Best served with ice cold frothy liquid yogurt.

Childhood: ok, this is unusual. I have chosen a short film for this prompt. It shows Sam and Alistair on the trampoline, singing ring-a ring o' roses. Childhood pure and simple. Their singing is barely audible but it is still beautiful.

Your Sky: photographed one evening just outside my front door.

Colour: look at the bright colours on this beach café seat cushion.

Your shoes: my current selection of shoe wear. This changes with the season but the running shoes are always there.

I hope you enjoyed my October photos, I did enjoy taking them. Have a lovely weekend. Cx

  1. Great interpretations and I loved your choice of a video for childhood - so sweet to see your boys enjoying each other's company.x

  2. That video is so sweet ... the biggest and littlest here used to play like that - there's eight years between them - and have a really close bond now they are both young adults.

And I love your ring ... sooooo pretty :)

  4. The photographs were wonderful but the video was a delight, an older brother playing with a younger one, beautiful!

  5. I have Doc Martins too! (Much to my husband's horror!) You are brave holding the aubergines over the gas flame, though I can see it would be less time consuming than grilling them, which is what I tend to do. A great variety of photographs, and adorable video clip x

  9. Such fun seeing your photos and video...although I couldn't hear the boys too well, as you mentioned, I could sing along with them because they had the beat down pat...I knew exactly when they'd 'all fall down'...Your ring is so pretty. Loved the mixture of colour, cooking, shadows, but felt sad for poor little Jack...I am sure he is glad to be free now :)

  17. Your ring is so pretty. I liked seeing you char the eggplants; I wish I could do that here but I have an electric glass cooktop. When I had a gas stove, we charred chiles on the flame. The video is lovely, thank you for sharing such a sweet moment.

  18. Enjoyed the photos from Turkey. Is that really your cat travel basket? Over here everyone uses ugly plastic ones. Yours is beautiful!

  20. I love that video of your boys and is that really the view from your back garden? Lucky you if so. The blues in the ring are gorgeous and I'll try that trick with the aubergine - usually only do this with peppers. Great pictures - I love this scavenger hunt idea and may try to join in if I can.
