late October weekend
How was your weekend? Ours was good. We didn't do much at all. I like it like that. There were of course the usual chores but nothing too bad. On Saturday, I enjoyed a walk with Jack, clearing my head and filling my lungs with fresh air. Richard went cycling and the kids stayed in the house, happy to potter around in their pyjamas. I spent some time sewing and some more time knitting. We had a tv dinner of pizza and watched the original 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' movie with Gene Wilder. Later, Richard and I watched another old film, 'The Fifth Element'. It was late when we finally went to bed. It was late when we all got up on Sunday. I knitted in bed with a second cup of coffee. After lunch we went for a walk in the wilderness nearby. It looked wild but the ice cream van music was always near. We found some late blackberries. For dinner, Richard made us a lovely dinner, chicken and mushroom pie followed by apple and blackberry pie. It was nice.
Thus refreshed, I am ready to tackle another busy week at work. Wishing you all a good week. Cxx
Sounds like a good one to me. Glad you are feeling better! cheers Wendy
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time you all had. I love those two films.

Sounds good to me! I do dream of lie-ins and alone time, but with a three-year-old they're extremely rare!
ReplyDeleteThere are still blackberries here too. I must go and pick some - I don't know if it's the frost that finishes them off.
As for the Gene Wilder film, there's something slightly creepy about it don't you think? Same with The Wizard of Oz. Maybe it's just me!

Wild walks are always a good idea. Our dog wears two tags on his collar which jingle together so that I can always hear where he is as he usually takes the opportunity to disappear into undergrowth like that! xx
ReplyDeleteHey Christina,
ReplyDeleteOh the lie in sounds perfect to me. I picked blackberries this week. I think the rain we have been forecast will finally finish them off, but it was good to grab a bagful and pop into the freezer. Olly can't get enough of blackberry and apple pie it seems.

sounds like a lovely weekend. I had a headache all weekend and spent it feeling a bit sorry for myself.......... probably should have gone for a walk, it would have made me feel better...... x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a really good weekend. Mine was good too and I hope to do a post about it soon. Quite exciting, actually!
ReplyDeleteI would have loved a lie in - sadly no ;lie ins with my children especially on clock change weekend. I'm sure I'll be complaining about them not getting up when they're teenagers!! Hope you have a fab week xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend. I much prefer the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the Johnny Depp one.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderfully relaxing. I love the idea of two different kinds of pie for dinner. That's my kind of meal. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend. I was home alone on Saturday as Mick travelled to Warwick with Eleanor to a university open day there so I did a bit of tv watching, catching up on some programmes I'd taped and a bit of crafting. I stripped the beds and got the washing on the line yesterday before taking a trip to Hobbycraft, how I love that place. I tackled a few more jobs when I got home and joy of joys, when I brought the washing in it was bone dry.
ReplyDeleteKnitting in bed with a cup of coffee - now that's how you start a weekend!! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Take care and hope your week is going well. X
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late here catching up but it sounds like a perfect weekend.
ReplyDeleteAh, autumn, the season of pies! Your weekend sounds pretty perfect actually. x
