cooling off my feet

My dear readers, I am pooped. It has been such a hectic week, my body has been trailing behind my mind, desperate to catch up, never quite making it. Now, my feet are resting on the footstool, cooling down. Imagine a full time job, sprinkle it with unloved evening work, a lovely work dinner, a fun quiz night (we won) and a bottle of afternoon Prosecco with my lovely friend (thank you). And yes, the ironing is done, the children are happy, tomorrow's dinner is in the oven and the dog is fed. My special weekend treat was Sunday afternoon sewing at the Stitchery. I finally conquered the overlocker, it is not so scary after all.

Amidst all the madness, there were moments of joy. I enjoyed some lovely dog walks last week. The weather was mostly dry, glorious even on some days. The birds were enjoying the spring weather also, courting and building nests I guess.

Now I am looking forward to a quiet week with a grand finale. More of that another time. What about you? Have you got any plans for the coming week? I hope it is a good one. xx

  1. I can see you are enjoying your new camera. Love the closeup of the swan. You sound very organised...tomorrow's dinner already in the oven! Lots of gardening is on my agenda next week. Let's hope the sun keeps shining. B x

  8. I'm allowed to have an over locker when my craft room is et up this year. I'm going to a class or two first before I buy one. I'm glad to hear you've mastered it. I hope this week is a little easier for you, mine I fear will be busy with the added bonus (sarcastically typed) of taking my mother shopping Wednesday morning. Taking a woman in her mid seventies who refuses to have her cataracts removed shopping in a confined space is not my idea of fun. Pass the prosecco please. Take care xx

I'm taking K to a university taster day. How on earth can she be old enough for that...?

  13. You have had a crazy week. I had all that packed into a weekend when my daughter came home for an unexpected visit. Nice to see her of course, but it threw me off fitting in all her plans with ours. Of course her plans trumped some of mine :[ Hopefully you'll have a more restful week now.

  15. Hey Christina,
Is that a Yellow Wagtail? I saw one last week. What a lovely bird. Hmm plans for this week include gardening in earnest, sowing seeds in the greenhouse, volunteer work and Women's Aid, library lady duties at Olly's school, swimming, walking the dawg, dinner plans with a friend (I'm cooking. Possibly chicken tarragon. She's bringing the wine) and reading a new book.
Hope you have a good one!

  18. I hope you're having another good week Christina - it looks like the west coast of Scitland is enjoying the best of the Spring weather right now. You take very good photos of your local bird life - my parents used to live on the river and I miss watching the wildlife with them.
