Easter weekending
I thought I'd share some random photos from our Easter bank holiday weekend. It was a pleasing, gentle kind of weekend with no plans other than enjoying ourselves. And enjoy ourselves we did, except maybe Sam who is studying for his Higher Exams. The weather was not playing along, it often doesn't here but it didn't matter much. We enjoyed plenty of delicious food, culminating with a beautiful roast chicken on Easter Monday. We had a BBQ with friends and laughed a lot. I like friendships that includes the entire family and pets, too. We visited the botanic gardens, went for playdates, dog walks and bike rides, we sewed and went shopping and got to the bottom of the ironing pile. Now, it is back to normal, school, work and studying. The next long weekend is not far in the future and I am already looking forward to enjoying some more family time.
I'd like to thank you all for visiting, spending a few minutes with me and leaving a comment, if you have time to do so. It is lovely to see new and old friends. Have a lovely week. xx
Sounds like the perfect Easter weeken despite the weather. Your baking looks scrummy and I hope you have recovered after your BBQ . Have a good week. B x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely Easter weekend :) The weather here was mostly cold and grey and showery and (aside from a wildlife trust birthday party) I didn't do anything exciting or fun!
ReplyDeleteReally apart from one windswept blackbird, you wouldn't know the weather was a little off. Clearly the plants are loving it! Wonderful Easter pics! Onwards to the next holiday weekend :)

Sometimes no plan is the best plan and it sounds like a good time was had by all. We took the same approach here and I liked not having a schedule.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your Easter photos. We had a quiet weekend too, after returning home from family visits late on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWe went for a short walk on Monday at the beach which was lovely and made us vow to try and go out walking more often. Back home we too cooked a roast chicken and later watched Legends of the Guardians film. I did wonder if teen 2 would make it to the bus on time in the morning (he hates getting up), as we let him stay up and watch it. His brother is still on hols for another week (college) as only one of their two weeks off overlapped. Think that's hard knowing others are still off. Cathy x
Glad to read you had a lovely Easter Weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely Easter weekend! I agree with you, it's great to spend family time with friends.Irune
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so nice. I love your photos, especially the flowers. Everything is looking very springy there, even if the weather doesn't always cooperate.
ReplyDeleteWow.. you captured some wonderful images, my friend! It sounds like a just right weekend with family and friends, outings and home chores. We enjoyed Easter all mixed in with installing a new chicken coop.. lol. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so yummy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Looks like you had some lovely family time
That sounds like the very best of weekends, glad you had such a good time. Love the apple blossom, one of my favourite things at this time of year. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThe very best sort of weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the perfect weekend. Lovely photos, but what caught my eye was the cake/tart(?). That looks delicious. I, too, love the long weekends at this time of year. Good luck to Sam with the exams. x
ReplyDeleteI think the photos show that you had some nice quality time together with your family. Wondering what is the pie(?) filling :)
