fairy cups
It has been a tiring couple of weeks and as I am writing this, I should really be updating an online teaching topic for release tomorrow morning. I don't have enough motivation and I am battling with a painfully slow internet connection, which doesn't help. I forgot my mocca pot on the stove on Friday, the coffee was a geyser, the coffee grounds were incinerated and the plastic handle melted. I ordered a replacement, which arrived today. It is apparently for two cups but the cups must be fairy cups, barely enough to fill a thimble. Pretty much sums up the week.
The photos are from today's walk. I took the boys to the nature reserve near Mugdock Country park. The name eludes me at the moment. It is one of my favourite spots to walk but I haven't been for ages. There is no parking other than a lay-by, which makes it a quiet walk even on a sunny Sunday morning. It took my camera but as always when we go to the nature reserve, my battery is exhausted after taking three photos. No doubt a coincidence but it is a bit annoying. The photos today are taken with my phone camera, inferior to my camera but better than no photos. Boys and dog loved the mud.
Wishing you a lovely week. As always, thanks for stopping by, it is good to see you. xx

Hi Christina - I'm feeling tired and low this morning too and not looking forward to the day ahead at work . I reckon it's November - not enough light. I need a good walk somewhere like this to revive my spirits.
ReplyDeleteHello Christina. Sorry to hear about your mishap with the mocca pot. I loved seeing your photos. Looks like your boys had a great time. Hopefully your week will go well. Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeletePhotos are great however they were taken. Burning the coffee pot is one of our favourite occupations, we’ve been through at least two. The smell after lingers for a while and is gross. I have to say the smaller coffee pot makes better coffee even if it’s only a thimble! Have a good week. B x
ReplyDeleteWhat a Glorious place. It looks very beautiful and good balm for a tired soul. Wishing you a more energised week x
ReplyDeleteSorry it's been a tiring couple of weeks. My computer is on a go-slow at the moment, which drives me bananas. I hope it's a better week this week. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice place to explore. We have a metal single shot espresso maker and my husband gave me the warning early to never let it boil too long or it might explode - duly noted. Sorry you had to live through the experience.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your rough time lately, and the coffeepot. What a hassle. I hate when you order a replacement for something and they've totally changed the thing in the time since you bought the first one. The reserve looks like a great place to take boys and dogs for a walk. I hope this week is better for you!
ReplyDeleteHope your week gets better too. Nothing better than mucking about in the mud.
ReplyDeleteAt least you can drink two cups of coffee without feeling guilty and worrying that you're going to end up behaving like a Thunderbirds puppet - but I'm sorry you've had a rough week. Here's to a better on this week! xx
ReplyDeleteOh I hate when that happens.. when things don't turn out to be the size advertised or expected.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a better week Christina. You definitely don't sound like your usual self xxx p.s. I love the photo of the boys in the mud!
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you when it comes to slow internet connections. You have my sympathy. I must learn to adjust my work process so that I do most of the work offline and then upload it and walk away. Your camera battery is a familiar story too - my family share a camera and it is frustrating when the last person hasn't recharged the battery before storing it away again. Oh well, if that's the worst to complain about, life can't be that bad but it is frustrating all the same. Be comforted in knowing that it's not 'just you'! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your photos, as always! I chuckled at the coffee story, I think we have all been there. My sister finally bought me a kettle that turns itself off.... we are on our second one now, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteAwww,do hope this week is better for you.I Love your dog ( Well I would as I am a Dog Walker lol ) he is just adorable.Great photos too.Why do they think we want to drink Fairy Cups of Coffee Duh.Huggles xx
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all the wild and wonderful forest and glade photos you got. The lichen one was great. The melted pot was scary, it could have burned your house down! Your dog and boys are attracted to mud which is so cute! Have a wonderful week. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteSince I wasn't certain as to what a mocca pot was, I checked online and it seems similar to an expresso pot. Is this correct? From your photos it's clear that the boys and the dog really enjoyed the mud the best. And isn't it always the way that camera batteries are exhausted at the wrong times?
ReplyDeleteOh I can see the fairies brought with them blue skies and sunshine and happiness is truly a muddy dog!
ReplyDeleteWren x
It looks like a lovely place to walk, I'd have enjoyed the mud too! Hope things have improved since you wrote this post and nothing else has gone wrong!
