in no rush

... to get dressed on this wet and windy Bank Holiday Monday. It is properly miserable and quite chilly, too. Back in the olden golden days, when the children were little and us ancients were a bit hardier and adventurous we used to camp over this May Bank holiday, always with a bunch of other families equally bonkers. Not anymore. I do miss making memories of night time walks to the far away toilet blocks, of frozen toothpaste, mud-caked children and friends piled into the small porch area of the tent, all wrapped in woollies and blankets, steaming coffee in hand. Now I much prefer listening to the rain sitting on my favourite armchair in the corner of our cosy kitchen. Lupin the cat and just about everybody else in this house agrees with me.

Though of course no friends are visiting to help me set the world right but maybe soon.

Thanks for visiting ðŸ™‚

  1. I've spent much of my day like Lupin. Trying to sleep off the effects of my vaccination. X

  2. When it is rainy and windy I too prefer to be inside the comfort of my home. A cup of something warm in my hand.

  4. We do different things at different times in our lives. I loved your description of camping. It sounds like so much fun. It has been sunny here, so Lula and I are riding bikes and I'm weeding the garden.

  5. Oh yes...That reminds me of my younger days. I remember it so well. Five kids and a dog in a tent. I loved it at the time but the thought makes my blood run cold now. Give me a nice hotel or B and B these days.

  6. I am definitely with you on the cosy inside plan you had yesterday. Dashed outside a coupe of times but the draw of the kettle and warmth of the house proved to strong an option :)

  7. Sounds deliciously cosy, I do love the sound of rain and a good book. Lupin looks very happy with it all too. I am not one of life's natural campers. It is fun, but not my most natural environment :) Hope you have a good week. CJ xx

  8. Gosh you are hardy camping !st May Bank Holiday. My rule was 2nd Bank Holiday. We have a week booked in Shropshire in June, I can't wait. My 2 year old granddaughter's 1st camping trip. Indoors looking at the rain was more appealing to me yesterday too. CN x

  9. I am reminded of camping in Northern Ontario in the rain. They had been in drought until we arrived.

  10. My kids are planning a family vacation at a farm in August for my birthday and it will be the first time we have all been together for over 3 years! So I am really looking forward to that - I think there will be 14 of us (adults and children). Farm house, barn with bunk house, pond and acres of woods - a nice adventure to look forward to!

  11. Your cat certainly has the right idea for a rainy day! It was a long weekend here too - rained on Saturday and Sunday but thankfully was clear skies on Monday so the kids could finally get outside - we went to the playground after our bike ride :)

Hope that your week is going well :)

  12. Lupin and yourself have the best ways to celebrate the day, Christina, curled up and cozy or with a cup of something warm and dry indoors for both.
