interlude
It has been a while since I last posted....
Readers, I am falling apart. Aging gracefully is not how I do it. I am plagued by terrible acne, which really hurts. An infectious disease doctor colleague I had not seen in a year pointed out that I had a painful looking cold sore on my cheeks. Good one, mate. I tried the over the counter acyclovir after receiving this pub diagnosis. It makes no difference. I also developed a double sided ear infection, which means I was popping pain killers at the maximum allowable daily dose, timer in hand to not miss a dose. The pain! I feel it deserves an exclamation mark.
A GP visit later I now have both acne treatment and antibiotic/anti-inflammatory ear drops. The acne will take weeks to make a difference but the ear infection is clearing up after a few days of treatment and my ears now discharge less ominous matter. I am starting to feel more like myself again.
I'll catch up with you all soon. Thanks for visiting 😊
Sorry to hear this. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHow completely miserable. Hope the meds work soon. Take care x
ReplyDeleteHow miserable, ageing isn’t for whims is it? Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOuch I feel your pain. Hope things clear up quickly and life gets back to normal. Sending you cyber hugs xxB
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a LOT. I am sorry, and am glad things are hopefully going in the right direction now.
ReplyDeleteThis is how it goes.
ReplyDeletePoor you - hope things clear up soon - I am stil waiting for my ENT appointment for 6 months now - luckily I do not have pain in my ear just distorted sound so I cannot hear what people are saying to me easily - it is like listening to a station tannoy and very annoying.
ReplyDeleteSending you best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Menopause can kill you!!!! Please take care of yourself. Sending a big hug.
ReplyDeleteExclamation mark, indeed. Sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're feeling unwell. I hope things clear up for you soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you have been under the weather. I occasionally get what's called cystic acne on my face and it's usually just one or two spots, but they take forever to clear up and leave red scars that last for months - not to mention they really hurt. Perimenopause is no joke and no fun! Take care.
ReplyDeleteI can sympathise with the ear infections, especially. I, too have had recurrent infections. I am a swimmer of old,( I live in Australia) and have narrowed ear canals, as a result. I now use a prescription mix of acetic acid/ethanol, as ear drops, after every shower or swim to dry canals. Touch wood , haven’t had an infection in 12/22. Do you still use the external ear buds? I was wondering how they were. I can’t wear internal ear buds. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteoh dear Christina, poor you I hope you are feeling better soon xxx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds both horrendous and miserable in equal measure especially the ear infections!!!! Sending hugs and I’m glad to read that you are slowly on the mend xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better soon. Xx
ReplyDeleteHow horrid for you Christina. I do hope that things clear up quickly for you and the anti biotics and creams do there job. Sending all my best wishes.

ReplyDeleteOh Christina, poor you. I hope you are on the mend very soon. CJ xxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh no.. so sorry to hear about. I hope it all rectifies itself soon and you feel better.
ReplyDeleteOh poor you Christina. Sound nasty. Hope you feel better soon. X Doris
ReplyDeleteCold sores can be nasty and most unexpected. I developed one on the recent trip to Italy and was able to find a cream treatment at a Pharmacia at an exorbitant cost and it really didn't hasten the healing, which only time seems to do. Hope you are feeling better soon.
