Lupin

Lupin as a kitten

We are heartbroken, our wee cat Lupin died on Wednesday.

She stopped eating about a week ago and a blood test showed that her kidneys stopped working, causing toxins to build up in her blood. There is no such thing as dialysis for cats, or any other treatments and we took the difficult decision to let her go. We knew this day would come after her diagnosis of chronic kidney disease in summer 2023.

She was so very sweet, most mornings she would sit on my chest and help me go through my emails, a chore I do on a comfortable armchair.

I am glad we could help her go to sleep.

  12. Such sad news before Christmas Christina but all cat lovers like me know exactly how you feel. There is no cure for it except remembering all you gave her and all she gave you. However you are not quite at that place yet. I had a group of six cats ...all female, all about the same age. I didn't intend to have six they somehow "arrived"from different directions for different reasons but were well loved. All but one died from kidney disease and like you say there is no cure. The sadness goes, the love remains. X
